My adorable niece who lives in Urbandale, Iowa, sent me pictures yesterday of their day in Pella, Iowa. There is much she left out however, being the most important part and that is a visit to the Dutch Bakery. However, she did report that they had visited and listed all of the items they had bought......the list was quite long. I missed so much being there with them this year......maybe next year.
Because their weather has been so cold, many of the tulip were still tightly budded. That is one thing about spring flowers, their timing is reactive to the weather. When everything is in full bloom it is a sight to behold.
This is a picture of my great niece and of my sister. They look happy but cold....they reported that the day was quite chilly.
Many of the locals come out in Dutch costume.
Here is Kelly in her new store, The Quilted Windmill....it looks like they had the perfect spot to hang the little quilt which I made for them.
My niece took a picture of the pattern rack so that I could see my patterns there.
Quilters doing what they do best.....SHOPPING! :-)) I even spy some dear husband accompanying his wife. I wish Kelly well in this new endeavor.

I love going to Pella, the bakery is my favorite place - it takes about 4 hours to get there. Hopefully one day I will get there again and go to the quilt shop.
