After 10 days of adventure it is great to be home again. :-) I have bunches to share with you.....where do I begin? You start at the very beginning, a very good place to start....
After having Mother's Day dinner out with my family......and Julie and Dawn, as they seemed like family, we headed out on Sunday morning May 10th and headed for Casper, Wyoming to pick up my very dear sister-in-law, Brenda. The Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt above was a quilt top from days gone by........from family. Brenda, hand quilted it and what a treasure it is. The bear was purchased on a trip we took together with a local quilt friend, Bonnie Miles.......a trip down memory lane.
Pictures from her sewing room to prove that it was indeed the home of a quilter. Brenda, returned with much more to add to her stash!
The second night was spent with some of my family in Minnesota.......you remember I am originally a Minnesota farm girl. What a warm and cozy evening filled with laughter we had. More memories! Then on the road again on Tuesday morning and we shopped our way to Minneapolis. The first quilt store we stopped at was in an old bowling alley
Thought this clothes pin bag was adorable.
The shop had an amazing collection of old sewing machines.....many of them a brand I have never heard of.
The machines were tucked in here and there.....loved seeing them all. We each left with a bit of fabric too!
This is the charming walk way leading up to the entrance.
We have a lot of catching up to do......Market was stimulating and successful. I do not have many pictures from market, just a few......I will share them eventually. I'm thrilled to announce that Quilt Mania is working on a book of my patterns......this is an honor which I am trying to absorb. Perhaps it will gradually sink in! :-)

ReplyDeleteMy legacy would be that you don't have to give up anything. You can be chic but have a sense of humor, you can be sexy but comfortable, you can be timeless but fresh. See the link below for more info.
