It is difficult to pass by an antique shop without stopping to browse a bit.....while on vacation that is. That is usually when I find the time to treasure hunt....otherwise I do not take the time. This is one of two antique shop in The Dalles, Oregon.
I seem to have a thing with cats, alive and otherwise. I found myself smitten with this adorable feline.
Notice the carved ears of corn on the top of this rocking chair......and then the crazy quilt placed over the back. It was in good condition.
Two loved and worn quilts found in this trunk. The Triple Irish chain quilt was beautifully done, but is now very faded. I loved the trunk.
This yo-yo quilt was enormous, and you can't imagine how very heavy it was. The quilt was in excellent condition. Someone made a big bunch of yo-yos.
Scrappy and wonderful!
A colorful utility quilt.
This christening dress was gorgeous, and if I remember correctly, it was in the thirty dollar range. It was absolutely exquisite.
The trim was hand made...perhaps tatted. This dress came with a under skirt.
This was another sweet little gown.
And this little antique gown was only 15.00. It showed a bit of wear, but was still very lovely.
This particular shop had quite a few trims and sewing notions. Julie purchase a little Singer oil can....very unique. What fun this was!
"Loving yourself involves the discovery of the true wonder of you: not only the present you, but the many possibilities of you. It involves the continual realization that you are unique, like no other person in the world, that life is, or should be, the discovery, the development and the sharing of this uniqueness."
