.....and the top to my new little quilt is finished. I will take it to share with my class on Saturday at the Quilters Attic in Bountiful, Utah, and then off it will go to be quilted. What an enjoyable time I've had creating this little bit of Joy. Now I'm searching for a name. I'm asking you to help me out. If your idea is selected you will receive the first pattern printed.
I have my fabric ordered so I will soon be making kits! :-)
Margaret is from Australia, and what a special person she is. I love her work. I wanted to purchase all of the designers books, but my luggage would only hold so much.
Baskets are always a favorite of mine.
I love how she has used the clam shells in this quilt....or maybe they are not actually clam shells.
This quilt for sure called my name.....it was love at first sight!
I've made this block before. I absolutely love the sashing detail.
My heart did a pitter patter on this sweet quilt.
This is an antique quilt which Margaret share......I found it to be most charming.
Love!
Everything was very slow on Sunday and Bruce was just a bit bored.
However, he soon found one to pull up a chair and have a chat....and she was able to chat in English with him.

My suggestion for the beautiful, new pattern: Joyful Spring.
ReplyDeleteHow about something like "Friendship Garden". I feel a common thread in many of your blog posts is friendship. So I thought it would be appropriate to include friendship in the name of a quilt. I have so enjoyed your posts from France. I would love to make it there myself one day.
ReplyDeleteThe name that came to my mind when I looked at your beautiful quilt was--"Feelings of Joy"--it is a very joyful looking quilt--so sweet--

Love you new quilt, beautiful! I choose 'Sawtooth Spring' for the name, incorporates the sawtooth border plus all the flowers springing forth and the one birdie on her nest - those things remind me of spring! Best, Ann in NC
ReplyDeleteHi Norma - my suggestions for a name for your darling quilt are "Garden in the Square " or "Happiness in the Square" - beautiful use of the square in a square block and lovely wool flowers!
