Love Generously!

I will start with my thought for the day.  In a book I've been reading by Ben Behunin, he has a section about loving generously.  Because I loved the section so much I want to share some of his thoughts.  "Every choice we make creates a ripple effect across time and space.  But the ripples that make the biggest difference come from our choices about love.  Let yourself fall in love with everyone you encounter.  Love them without judgment.  Don't be stingy.  Just open up and love!  Let it ooze out of you like a gentle river, and your life will be filled with purpose and unquantifiable joy."  Isn't this just the best?  I felt it just needed to be shared.  It will give me something to purpose towards.

Here are my row of houses on my design board.  I've decided that my quilt will be nine houses wide.  Just the right size to cover up with for naps.

Last week when our little quilt group met, Barbara shared with us her newly finished quilt.  She had just finished the hand quilting on it.

I love it!  To me it looks like an antique.

While teaching at the retreat in Midway this past Thursday, I saw a new bucket in the process of being made.  Sandy, made the one shown here, but she was also working on making another new one.

Here are the workings for the new one.  This one includes some of her marvelous counted cross stitch pieces.

It was love at first sight!

The Remember the Giver block was taken from my quilt by that name.

And, here is a bit more of her handiwork.  Truly inspiring!

Hope everyone is finding time to stitch.....part of a perfect day!

  7. I am probably the only quilter that does not like hexies. Using them as a "second" border: I am in love!

  8. I love the bucket also...can you share the designers full name so those of us that love it may contact her? You post so many beautiful things and sadly no links. Also the Petal Quilt is one that I would love to purchase the pattern for also, where can one find it?
