Twice I have had the opportunity to visit Shaker settlements and to
learn a bit of their life style. Because I love inspiring words, I
picked up a beautiful book about Shaker wisdom. The lines on this
pillow, "Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free" comes from one
of their hymns. You will find versions of this tree as a symbol
depicting Shaker things. In fact a tree similar to this one was on the
bag my book purchase was placed in.
