Threads of Time

Good Morning!  I'm back...I'm finding out that I can't blog everyday, as I mentioned in my last blog time is a problem and I'm trying to be master of my own time.  I've placed the above quilt on my blog because of what it has to say.  The last couple of months have been difficult ones for me, and the difficulty continues.
This is what I have written about this design and how I felt at the time I made it.

"This little block is known as either the spool or as the hour glass.  To me it became the Threads of Time.  Having previously designed under a different company name, I am now setting out on a new and exciting adventure.  "Timeless Traditions" is the name of my new company and this quilt will be its beginning.  I've chosen this motif because of the story it tells.  This transition has changed the threads in my life's tapestry.  Life experiences have changed the weave of my story.  The threads on these spools are all dark, representing this dark time in my life.  However, on the lower right corner is
a spool of gold
This illustrates the story of my quilt.
To all my wonderful, kind and generous quilting friends, you are pure gold.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and loving encouragement.  You have influenced the weave of my life, and when I step back I can see the beautiful section you have helped create.  The individual spools are united by the red sashing, which to me signifies the warmth of love that connects us
 to each other.

When I am able to move beyond this struggle I intend to redo this quilt and place all kinds of wonderful colored thread on the spools.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day, and that you find time to take fabric and needle in hand!

  1. I think that it is neat that you can look forward and at the future with colored thread on the spools. Your life may be dark right now, but that won't last forever - this too shall pass. Good for you for having the ability to look toward the future!

  3. Thanks for sharing this. I love the idea of doing the quilt again with an array of colors for the thread when the timing is right. For now, I absolutely love, love, love this quilt just the way it is!

  4. What a role model you are to me. Your creativity, your work ethic, your inherent gentleness, and at the same time your tenacity and toughness - you are a woman to be admired and loved. Plus, you are just as darn fun as they come!!
