Black Birds and Bittersweet

This is my newly created fall table topper.  It goes to the quilter today and soon should be ready for sale.  In fact it will be the prize for the second Wed. drawing.  I've mainly used Diamond Textile fabrics with the exception of the border plaid.  That is a piece I've been hoarding for a while and found this to be the perfect spot for it.  I'm not certain where or when I purchased this plaid, but I'm certain their other wonderful fabrics out there that can be substituted.
It is a rainy day here today and I've decided it will be a good day to have soup....I'm so ready for cool crisp fall days.  This is my favorite time of year, partly because it seems to offer permission to settle in doors and to do what I love most......Sew, read a good book, make home made soup, and bake.  Sounds like the good life to me. I hope life is settling in for all my quilting friends and that you are having some uninterrupted time at your sewing machines or with thread and needle.

  4. LOVE IT Norma - and I can see why you were hoarding that piece of fabric - it's perfect and I've never met a plaid I didn't like.

  6. Hi Norma, Love this pattern! I have been waiting for a pattern with bittersweet that looks like the real thing and yours truly does! Can't wait to order this. I might take the crows and bittersweet and do a wool applique.
Where I am in Phoenix it is still triple digits so I am anxiously awaiting our fall. Being from New England my soul always logs for crisp air and fall foods-chili, soup, pumpkin bread, and apple pie.
    Have a wonderful day!
