And, I think I'm ready to go!.......Here are my last 3 completed projects, and they are now available on my web site. www.timelesstraditionsquilts.com The quilt is named Silent Night. There is all kinds of activity going on under the light of a full moon. This was a very enjoyable quilt to make. The applique is all wool on a cotton background, and the log cabin blocks are pieced from my scraps of plaids, stripes and wonderful home spun type fabrics.
This fellow ended up being a pillow after all. This pattern is called Tidings of Joy. The snowman itself is pieced from several different wools. It is wool on a pieced cotton fabric background. I used scraps from my stash, which are stored in a big copper boiler overflowing with plaids, stripes and that sort of thing. I find it difficult to cut into a big hunk of newly purchased fabric. I pull from my scraps first. It seems I need to admire my new fabric for a while.......crazy, yes well it is I guess.
This pillow is called Snow Buddies. Once again the snowmen are made from wool and are on a nine patch made from cotton fabric. If you notice how these pillows are finished......it is a method I use to make them look like they have piping, except they don't. They are bound as you would a quilt and the binding is stuffed. Very easy!
Last evening a few friends met to have dinner together and to sew. It was a very special time. Nothing is better than the sharing of good food and nurturing soul food as well. I have just a little thought to close with..."What we see depends mainly on what we look for". - John Lubbock
