A sneak peek of things to come....

The camera did something funny on the background of this one......the background is more like the second block..........this is what I have been working on.  My plan is to show a few each day, and then maybe by the time you've seen all of the appliqued blocks, the border will be completed.

I have used Valdoni thread to whip stitch the grass sections down.....rather long and uneven stitches to represent grass.  I thought I'd try something different, and I think I like it.

These photo's were taken by Katrina's husband.  He is a photographer who travels far and wide taking photographs.  He just returned from California where he shot photo's of a basketball star for a deodorant commercial.  He's also photographed Warren Buffet so his subject matter is quite versatile.

My husband is home with me today....we are having a long week-end.  He is home because of Martin Luther King's birthday.  It is always good to reflect on how far we've come as a country with civil rights, and to realize we still have a way to go......!

I'm certain that their are many hoping for a better tomorrow.  I always want to live so that I may be part of the solution.

  3. I can not wait to see the entire project! I love the little samples you've shown so far. Using the long/short stitches to look like grass is a great idea and really adds to the "grass" look!

  5. The quilt, how does your garden grow, where does the pattern come from? I love it and would like to do it. Do you do kits for it?
