Blue sky and sunshine....

It is a beautiful morning......sunshine is a mood alternating drug for me!  It can be ever so cold, but if the sun is shining, it doesn't seem to matter.

The quilt above which is being held by my magic quilt holder is one of my favorites to hang this time of year, and it is by Needle Love.  The majority of the quilt is made from raw silk.  The applique and the little red inner border are the only part that is not.  The flowers are done using needle turn applique with a few wool accents.

Here it is hanging on the wall.  My husband doesn't even roll his eyes anymore when I ask him to bring the ladder in.  The process is simplified by these wonderful quilt hangers.

I am busily working on my new garden themed quilt.  It is a joy to work on.  I will start sharing the blocks with you as I get them stitched.  Now I'm beginning to visualize the border.

I hope the sun is shining in your neighborhood.  :-)

  2. I have loved that quilt since first sight, and it is on my someday list, AND I have chosen Someday as my word for 2014. This is the year for actually making some of the quilts that have been on my someday list, many for decades. Norma, would you please tell us more about the quilt hanger. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your blog, and for sharing your talents with us, your readers. Also, thanks for one of my favorite things: quotations. Have a super 2014, be happy, joyful, find time to laugh and STITCH.
