Itty Bitty Baby Quail......

I believe I mentioned that we have bunches of Quail (I believe that's called a covey of quail) who reside in our pine tree which is right outside the window that I look out every day while on the computer.  The babies are hatching and it is so cute to see them scurrying behind their mother.....it's really difficult for me to find the words to describe this.  My husband said it looks like little leaves blowing across the road. Anyway, it's just a delightful thing to observe.

The little quilt group that meets once a month....did so recently and Galyn, has been busy.  I continue to maintain that there is nothing finer than the simple nine patch. The color combination is beautiful.

Diane works full time at the University of Utah, and still manages to find time for quilting.  This is the quilt which she made for her grandsons graduation.  The strip of blue and gold represent his schools colors.

She had family members, cousins etc. sign a block for the back.  So clever, and what a treasure this will be for Spencer.

And here is Diane with the quilt she just finished for her grand daughter.  These quilts will help them to feel cherished......which they definitely are...just ask Diane.

The passing of Maya Angelou is a great loss to this planet....Many of us have been enriched with her words of wisdom.  I have chosen the words of Elisabeth Kubler- Ross to pay respects to her.

"The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, know loss and have found their way out of the depths.  These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern.  Beautiful people do not just happen".

I can't believe it's Friday once again....Have a memorable week end.

  1. Maya Angelou's passing is indeed a great loss, but what treasures she has left us! What a beautiful quote to honor her.
I think bevy can also be used for a group of quail. The little ones are so fun to watch, they almost look like they are "walking on water" when they scoot. Mama and Papa are never far behind.
