Quilts......

I'll share a few more quilts with you from the retreat.  I hope you aren't tired of seeing the quilt pictures I took.  I understand full well that I do not excel at photography.....what I do can't even fall under the category of photography.....let's just call it picture taking! :-)  Some of the pictures were taken at a distance during trunk shows.....but I did my best.

I want to share this sweet quilt because of the story behind it.....most all quilts have some story to be told.  The lady who shared this quilt had recently lost her husband.  During the month of Feb. they had fun sharing candy hearts for each other to find.....so this is her reminder of that precious time she shared with her husband.

This is a marvelous traditional and vintage looking quilt which was shared at show and tell.  I am not certain who to give the credit to.

Last year at the retreat the Hunter Star was taught and this was a finished quilt from the class.....very striking!

This was another class that was taught last year......lovely traditional goodness!

Two very lovely and talented women, Bonnie and Trudy were asked to do a trunk show and what a treat that was.  I was especially drawn to this quilt......everything about it.

Trudy shared her Dear Jane quilt with us.....This is the first one I have seen with the dark sashing......what an accomplishment.  I dream of completing this some day.

And here is Bonnie's all complete and wonderful in the cream sashing......when I grow up I'd like to be like them! :-)

Isn't this a lot of cheerful wonderfulness!!!

A contemporary twist on a Christmas quilt.

Bonnie and her sister Pat traveled to Africa together.....and this quilt commemorated the event with fabrics purchased there and here.

Another splendid splash of color.....kind of a Burgoyne Surrounded, with some added circles.

Trudy taught a class on making these marvelous, amazing hexagons.

Have an especially memorable week-end.  Life is short at best with no time to waste!

  3. Norma - Please don't apologize for your photos - I think they're wonderful and I love that you're so generous in sharing them with us! That's what I love about bloggers - they're real people sharing real life - nothing photoshopped or fake... Loved seeing all these quilts and hearing the stories behind some of them. What a fun retreat it was for you.
