Arriving at our destination.....

the purpose behind all of this quilt related stuff.....was to visit Ben, Erin and Wyatt!

First morning wake up bottle.  What a joy it was to hold this adorable little fellow in my arms, and to watch him hold his own bottle.  Wyatt had changed so much since I had last saw him.  When he first saw us after arriving he held out his arms to us with a great big smile.  Of course our hearts melted.
I love how he has his little feet crossed!

Having his dinner and warming our hearts with his sweet smile.  After enjoying part of Friday and then Saturday and Sunday with them, we headed out to investigate the area on day trips.  The first place on our list was to head out toward Berlin, Ohio in the heart of Amish country.

Our first stop was at Dutch Valley Gifts.

The flowers were beautiful.....so lush looking.  Ohio has had plenty of rain.

A good place for Bruce to do some front porch sitting while I had a go look see.....:-)

Across the parking lot for more shopping temptations.

A barn on the beautiful winding country road on our way to Berlin.

Next stop, The Helping Hands Quilt Shop.

A great piece of cheater cloth.

I loved this quilt made from 30's reproductions.

Fabulous applique.

Amish children's clothing for sale.

Before leaving the quilt store, I asked where the best place to eat was, where the locals went, and she directed me across the street......and we were not disappointed.  Fabulous home cooked style food.  In fact Bruce and I split chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy.  It was a good ideas we shared, because look what we shared for desert!

We watched the waitress making this......first a scoop of fresh peaches in the bottom of the bowl and then bunches of soft serve ice cream, followed by more peaches........YUM!  And look at the size of that bowl.  We slicked it clean.

Fabric from the sale table......I was pleased.  I remembered that the last time I visited there,  they had great sale fabric in the basement.  Once again I wasn't disappointed.

Here it is Friday again.  We have plans to celebrate my birthday this week end.....I do think I'm feeling a little livelier, and I'm ready to make up for lost time.  Enjoy your week end with those near and dear to you!
