Happenings at Grand Country Quilters.....

During my last visit to California in June I taught a couple of classes with my many friends there.  We always have a perfectly wonderful day when we gather.

This day we were working on Friendship Is A Sheltering Tree.

You can vaguely see the sample in the background.....one of the ladies is taking a picture of it.

We always start out our day with breakfast which include Mimosas, then we sew a little, visit quite a lot and then wouldn't you know it is time for a yummy lunch.  Then we sew a bit more and have our afternoon root beer float, before we return home the next day to start all over.

Here is sweet Jenny sharing with us the quilt she made for the store.  Jenny is a Home Health and Hospice nurse, and that was my career for years also, so we always have plenty to chat about.

This is Patti and her hubby with their new puppy, Abbie.  She is a Great Dane and is just starting to grow into herself.  They came for a visit.

You've seen several different versions of this quilt called, At Home In the Garden over the past few months.  Well, it is still going strong.  These are the blocks Patti has been working on.....she has chosen blue to her color way.  That pile of fabric in the background is my stash....:-).

Patti has embellished her blocks which has added to the richness of the blocks.  Mine were very plain in comparison.  I've enjoyed being inspired by them.

Her dog has the long legs of a Great Dane.

I'll have more from Grand Country Quilters tomorrow.  Happy Monday!

  1. Grand Country is my favourite store. Such great inspiration there and such a wonderful staff. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I love Jenny's quilt and the garden blocks, too. Sounds like you had a fun group there, Norma.
