First snow......

....always gives me quite a thrill.  The snow flakes are magical, especially if one can stay cuddly and warm in doors.

"Nature is full of genius, full of divinity; so that not a snowflake escapes it's fashioning hand."  -Henry David Thoreau

Last evening our little best friends quilt group met at Diane's home.  What a special time when friends gather to exchange ideas and offer unconditional care and then returning home with a warmed heart!  This is an amazing old trunk which Diane uses as a sort of coffee table.

We felt Diane to be quite courageous in using this beautiful quilt as a table covering.

What a great focal point this for her dining room.

After seeing the civil was row quilt hanging in Diane's home, it reminded me that I had made one of these.

Barbara's first love is civil war style quilts, however, she just enjoys playing with fabric.

This is a favorite recipe which we make for Thanksgiving.  My daughter Katrina will be making it this year, and I sent her the recipe today, and decided to share it with you too.  It is absolutely over the top amazing!  It is from my cookbook called, "Goodness Gracious Charleston.
"Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Please have an enjoyable week end!

  1. My Grandma used to make beautiful embroidery tablecloths and was always so proud to use them on her table for holiday dinners. She went to the dime store and bought clear vinyl from the roll to use as a protector over her tablecloths. Grandma Rita
