Celebrating......

Today is Bruce's birthday.  He is 67 years young!  We celebrated last evening with dinner out with Chad and Abbie....and this evening Bruce's soon to be 89 year old Dad is treating us to dinner.  We like to celebrate birthdays for at least a couple of weeks in our family.  Life is definitely something to celebrate.

Creating memories while we can......the gift of a loving family.

I found a little more time for stitching today.  This is the perfect combination for me......time at the machine and time for quietly stitching.

Yes, there are flowers growing from this roof!

I'm here to tell you the buildings were in place long before the paved roads.  I imagine that once upon a time this was simply a path traveled by horses and like conveyances.

Very narrow roads.

We had no schedule so we traveled off the main roads, and discovered the byways.

The path less traveled, and it made all of the difference!

Green and lush.

Back at our Air B and B the lilacs were in full bloom and so fragrant.  It was so lovely to not be always on the go and to have time for reflection, reading and visiting.

Lily of the Valley.

A vibrant bloom.

There is nothing quite so calming or inspiring as nature's beauty.

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; and optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."- Winston Churchill
