Today as I was navigating around the city, I stopped to snap a few pictures with my I pad.
My porch.
We have been experiencing beautiful weather that does not seem like fall at all. However, there is this tree in my back yard which is starting to turn.
My front door.
I love the new white pumpkins.
A quickie quilt which I made a few years ago in Autumn colors, and one of my favorite pillows from an old Needle Love book.
This pillow from wool was also from an old Needle Love book.
This Maple Leaf quilt is still one of my most favorite.
This a quick and easy pumpkin table runner that is one of my designs called, "Pumpkins On Parade."
I purchased this folky pumpkin a few years ago on a trip with friends to Amish country in Ohio.
This quilt hanging over my mantle, is a quilt I made from scraps a couple of years ago. It is actually larger than this, I've folded in the edges so that it would fit in this space. When making this quilt, I simply used strips of multiple dimensions, my objective was just to finish the blocks all the same size. The basket made from a gourd which sits to the right of the quilt, I purchased at the Country and Living fair this past September. And the tall crow, at a previous Country and Living fair.
The bittersweet in the gourd vase, was purchased on a quilt bus trip with Bonnie Miles when she guided us through Amish country in Lancaster, Pa. I realize how ridiculous this was, to try and bring bittersweet back on the airplane, but that is just what my friend Leslie and I did. That's called determination!
I love bringing out his bouquet of wheat. It is a sweet reminder for me of the wheat my brother had for my dads funeral. A remembrance of him being a farmer and a tiller of the earth.
A row of pretty trees from my gad about town.
Another golden beauty forming a canopy over the street.
And a row of orange berry foliage.
"October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came,
The Ashes, Oaks and Maple's,
And leaves of every name.
The sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand;
Miss Weather led the dancing;
Professor Wind the band.....
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.....
