Harvest Blessings. These are just a few, and know that we can all add numerous others to this list. This is one of my designs that I am giving away, to the first person who responds back to me at
One of my favorite days while in Oregon was spending a day with a very talented and sweet ladies, Brenda Youngson. We spent a marvelous day shopping around The Dalles and Portland with her.....and then we visited her warm and cozy home in the evening. We were greeted in her front entry with this lovely fall theme.
Brenda has chose to decorate her main living area in a patriotic theme. She is a veteran and very involved with the quilts of valor program. We spent Veteran Day with her and I took a photo of her next to a flag, but some how I lost it some where. The fine points of technical stuff often escape my capabilities.
This is a great collection on her patriotic trunk used as a coffee table.
Wonderful little quilted items were used throughout.
I thought this was a clever idea, she attached two flag together to make this swag for her window accent.
This patriotic quilt forms a backdrop fro this doll made from antique linens.
Brenda has a marvelous sewing area, and this is the quilt which is displayed there. She told us that this is the quilt she is most proud of making......other than her quilts of valor.
Just wait until I share more of her exceptional work. I'll start tomorrow.
"The heart that gives thanks is a happy one, for we cannot feel thankful and unhappy at the same time. The more we say thanks, the more we find to be thankful for. And that more we find to be thankful for, the happier we become."
-Douglas Wood

ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'm not the first person to respond, but I'll take this opportunity to thank you for your blog, and your gorgeous designs -- in January I'll begin working on Gathering Baskets (AND, I have one of the original kits!). Best wishes to you and yours for a happy and joy filled holiday season.
