…….my brother is here with us. It is always such a wonderful event when family which you see infrequently drops by for a visit. Along with this thought, I ran across this quote today. "Family and friends are hidden treasures. Seek them and enjoy their riches." -Wanda Hope Carter
Because he is with us, Bruce and I are spending time in the kitchen preparing a special dinner...….beef stroganoff. It is much more fun cooking when it's just not for 2.
Another bundle along with a star will be gifted today to the first person to send their mailing address to me
norma@timelesstraditionsquilts.com The little charm packs have been going out at a steady pace. The last one went to Liz Johns from Michigan. I remember you Liz, from when I visited your guild in Grand Rapids. I remember that visit with fondness!
This is the little table topper I mentioned in yesterday's blog posting. I took some of the Diamond Textile charm pack and mixed a few of my own fabrics, to create this little table topper. Then appliqued the petal shape from antique muslin over the seams, and where they joined in the corners added the gold circles. It was a nice little project to hand quilt, something I find so soul soothing. In fact I quilted most of it on a road trip a couple of summers ago.
This is the antique quilt which I mentioned I would show to you when my helper was available to hold it up for me. It is hand quilted and was very inexpensive.
I am particularly fond of the bold black and red bow tie in the center.
"At the end of the day, it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished.....It's about who you've lifted up, who you've made better. It's about what you've given back." - Denzel Washington
It's About Who You Lifted Up. If only each person in this world could adopt that mantra
