April Showers.......

……. will be bringing May Flowers.  It is so refreshing to see green once again.  The tulips are peeking through the ground, and perennials are coming back for their visit!  What an amazing time of the year.  Renewal and fresh hope!

My Summertime Banner is finished.  Quilted and bound.  However, it will not be offered until the first week in May, because of our trip planned to The Netherlands and Belgium.  There is just too much going on in my life, so everyone will have to be patient.  I enjoyed working on this design, and using the beautiful Diamond Textiles is always a pleasure.

We just celebrated this little blond boys birthday this past month.  He was 15 years old.  He has been in kidney failure for some time, and along with that pancreatitis which is very painful.  Last evening the vet came to Chad and Abbie's home and helped little Jalapeno cross the rainbow bridge.  He was such a dear little dog and will be greatly missed by all of us.

I have a few more pictures from Angela's home...….a quilter's home.

This red, white and blue quilt hanging on the ladder is an antique quilt.  I am always drawn to the old and worn quilts of another time.

This is an antique quilt top which has recently come in to Angela's possession.  She and I had so much fun examining all of the old fabrics.  The pink one in this photo is absolutely beautiful!

Here is a centennial piece, 1776 - 1876.  Pretty wonderful!

Several of the pieces were pieced together to make a large enough patch for the quilt top.

If only this quilt top could talk...…. I wonder of the story it might tell.

"Be happy in the moment, that's enough.  Each moment is all we need, not more."

Have a perfectly wonderful week end.  Any blog readers from The Netherlands or Belgium who read this blog, perhaps you will recommend some quilt stores for me to visit.

  2. Your banner is adorable. I also love Diamond Textiles, but found them a little hard to work with. You do such a beautiful job!

I just love those old fabrics. How fun to study them and imagine the beginnings of that quilt...
