Nothing but Bue Skies.....

…. is what I see.  Just a perfect day to have an outdoor brunch at Abbie and Chad's for Mothers Day.

"There is a mighty power in a mother.  She is the one who mold's hearts, lives and shapes character." - Flora Amussen Benson

"A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie." -Tenneva Jordon

There were some pretty spring flowers which greeted us in Chad and Abbie's front yard.

The table was prepared with a tablecloth and napkins which her grandmother once used.  Abbie chose them from their estate.

I requested eggs in purgatory for brunch.  Abbie makes a fabulous home made red sauce and then eggs are poached in it.  Notice the edible flowers adorning the pan on the right.  YUM!

Katrina lives directly across the street from Abbie.  She and Jess brought a Cesar salad made from Kale.  It was all delicious.

I am a happy and proud mother.  Abbie is on the right sporting her grandmothers apron which she chose as a special keepsake.

Katrina made this scrumptious coffee cake for desert.  It is an olive oil cake made with fresh lemon and chopped pistachios.  She served in with whipped cram with fresh lemon zest in it, and then fresh berries and a bit of mint.  Gourmet!

Little Moose basking in the sunshine.  So dear!

And little Tucker is content in the loving attention he is receiving.

A few more tulips to enjoy.

A few daffodils and some grape hyacinths tucked in.

A few of the plants had been dead headed, their blooms were already spent.

I really loved this delicate yellow tulip with this touch of pink.

A few more peonies that look like peonies.

Continued from the last blog post -
"Life on the someday I'll isn't so bad.  To be honest I often find myself washed up on those dreamy shores.  It's a peaceful, stress-free little place; there's usually something "just around the corner" to look forward to; and every tomorrow always promises to be better than today. The problem of course, is that tomorrow is promised to no one, and today is really the only day we have.  Begin doing what you want to do now.  We are not living in eternity.  We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake." To be continued.
