Happy 4th Of July!!!!

Today we do not celebrate the day we declared American Independence.  That would be July 2.  We do not celebrate the day we won it on the battlefield (Yorktown, Oct. 18, 1781) or sealed it in writing (Paris Peace Treaty, Sept. 3, 1783).  Today we celebrate the day we explained it!
Our Independence Day is the anniversary of the approval of a declaration of principles, which we endeavor to follow.
Recently we visited Franklin D Roosevelt's home and following is one of his quotes.  "In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved."

This is my porch where my high flying Patriotic cat will set once she arrives home to me.  Presently she is hanging out at a marvelous quilt shop called The Cornwagon Quilt Company, in Springville, Utah.

My friend Louise Talbot made these wood patriotic signs last year, and I so looked forward to setting them out this year.

For the next week my Patriotic cat kits will be discounted and will sell for $20.00 dollars.

"In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved." - William Faulkner

  1. Did you visit Roosevelt's home in the Hudson Valley? We live near there, and it is beautiful country. We live further down the Hudson, and often I sit by the river and do hand quilting or embroidery, or sketch designs. I love cats, and Patriotic Cat is adorable.
