I'm not quite ready......

These snowmen are adorable, however........I'm feeling like I want to hang onto November for a bit longer. November is more slow paced, while once we enter into the Christmas season, everything seems to have a bit of frenzy attached to it. This is the time of year that I become nostalgic and wish for the days of yore.......I have the best memories of Christmas shopping when I was in college.  I recall walking down main street with a few friends.......there were Christmas carols playing....it was snowing, and it all seemed so magical to me.......I'm for ever longing for simpler days.  Perhaps I was born in the wrong era........enough!  This snowman quilt is a design of Lisa Bongeans from Primitive Gatherings. Lisa does beautiful work. Lil, brought it all nicely completed to our quilt group, and just in time for winter display.

I have been sewing.....and am in the finishing stages of the new quilt I've been working on.  I will share it with you soon. I've also had time for reading.  I have this message on a greeting card that says;
At times I think to myself, "Drop the book and get stuff done".  Then I laugh and turn the page.

"Faith, Family, Friends for these we give thanks."  I saw this quote on a decorative sign and whole heartedly agreed.  And I know we can all find numerous things to add to the list......  It is a glorius day here in my neighborhood and I hope the sun is shining on you as well.

  1. I like to enjoy one holiday at a time. I find as I get older I long for simpler things with a greater meaning. I give homemade cookies and hand stitched gifts at Christmas and I have for several years. It started for financial reasons but now has become tradition and I like it.
