Days 7 and 6

I am sneaking in 2 days as we plan on leaving for Ohio in the wee hours of the morning.  It is snowing today and is supposed to snow all day, so we shall see......I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Today's first gift is a quilt journal.  A place for you to record your quilts, and some thoughts about them.

The journal begins with: "Our lives are pieced together....there will be quilts along the way to tell our stories.  For generations, quilts have shared love and kinship, warmed cold hands, snuggled new born babes, and brought courage and hope to troubled lives".     -M. Ashton

"A quilt for a friend is a gift from the heart".  The journal has individual pocket. to tuck mementos, a place for a photograph and a page to record the title, who it was made for and the story behind the quilt.  There are wonderful quotes throughout the journal.  I am gifting this to Jacqueline....send me your address please.

The second gift for today is a quilt book entitled Kindred Spirits.  The book celebrating pieces of the past feature designs by Jill Shaulis and Vicki Olsen of Yellow Creek Quilt Designs.  Jill and Vicki are sisters.  The book is published by Kansas City Star Quilts.  The first quilt is a sampler type quilt and is entitled "Brothers and Sisters".

"Blueberry Patch" is the second quilt featured.  I love the 2 little odd ball blocks.

"Stepping Stones"  is number three...

Then there is "Baby Steps".

Then came "Dancing Stars".

Moving along with "Joyful Abundance".  This a beauty!

This little applique is taken from the previous quilt, for a charming little table mat.

Next comes a table runner which they have called "Three of a Kind".

I'm in love with this "Pickle Dish" beauty in a frame.  What a wonderful piece of artwork to hang on your wall.  It has English paper piecing with the hexagons.

I also find this "Primitive Pineapple" in a frame, very stunning.  This quilt book will be gifted to Ann.  The Ann that asked the other day if she was the first responder.  Well today you were randomly picked......you didn't need to rush to email.  Please send me your address, so I can get it mailed before I leave town in the morning.  The remaining people to receive a gift, will have theirs mailed after I return home.
