The wind mill quilt

This is what I worked on yesterday.....all day!  After stepping back and looking at it, I believe the heart should be smaller and the vines to each side shorter, so I'll do some modifying today.  I will applique the shop name at the bottom, and for my quilt for a pattern, I will applique.......I guess I'm not certain......there are many ideas floating around,  I'll just have to see which I like the best at the time.

I will be out of town next week to a quilt retreat, and I've decided to make it a vacation from my routine, and will not be posting a blog next week.  However, I'm sure I will have many good things to share when I get home.  So, that means I will not be here to post the second Wed. winners of my drawing.......consequently the drawing will be held on the third Wed. instead.  So if you've entered, be sure to follow the entry that day to find out if you are a winner.  I will be giving out 2 patterns, and I haven't determined which ones yet.

We received a few inches of fresh snow in the night.......we're happy as we need the snow.  I'm hoping they received a big bunch of it in the mountains.   I just love how it makes everything clean and white for a short time.

    1. Thank you Karen. Sometimes I just need to step back from my design wall and study it for a while.

  2. Have a lovely time at your retreat. I like your block concept but I find the red blooms at the bottom a bit heavy. Maybe making it shorter will help. I like the delicate yellow and purple flowers. Have fun with the redesign.

    1. Sandi....you are absolutely right. I've shortened the stems and made the heart smaller so that it does not compete with the windmill. I like it better now.
