Bird Picnic

Good Morning!  Where I sit to type, I find myself looking out the window.  And right outside this window is a large pine tree, which has the bottom branches removed....oh, up about two feet.  We scatter bird see all around the base of the tree, and that is where our feathered friends gather to have a picnic........today there are many quail interspersed with a few smaller birds.  The quail often roost in this tree and pretty much think they own it..  They've been know to scold my husband when he goes out on an early morning to retrieve the newspaper.

Above is the pillow which I've completed.  I've called it, "Taking Time to Smell the Flowers".
The pattern should be available on my web site before the week is over.  I also plan to make a few kits.

The Windmill quilt is on it's way to the Quilted Windmill in Pella, Iowa.  It will be quilted there and then returned to me for binding and to be made into a pattern.  During the first part of May the small town becomes invaded by people from all over who come to see the beauty of the tulips......and to eat amazing Dutch pastries, and to take in other things of interest. The town is really picturesque even when the tulips aren't blooming.

I thought I'd share these words from Gandhi this morning.  I find myself needing to be reminded of some of these basic truths to live by.

"Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words,  Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior.  Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits.  Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values.  Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny".
