My Amaryllis Blooms

Alisa, the graphic Designer who does my patterns, gave me a Amaryllis bulb sometime in the vicinity of Christmas.  I didn't get it planted right away........perhaps about 3 weeks later.  It was a real test of faith......I'd faithfully water it, keep the soil moist, I even gave it some Miracle Grow, and finally one little green piece shot up out of the top of the bulb........Wow! it was alive, something was happening !The stalk grew to be about 24 inches tall, and then another one peaked from the top of the bulb....you can just see the tip of it in the picture.  Finally, the first flower emerged, and isn't it gorgeous?  It looks like there will be 4 blooms in all from the first stalk.  I've never had an Amaryllis before, so this has been a fascinating experience.  And a reminder of the miracle of life.  That bulb which was given to me looked very dead....just a dried up circular object with a few straggly roots sticking out the bottom....I think this is why I love Spring so much.

Valerie from our quilt group at Elaine's Quilt Block, shared this charming house quilt with us.  I do not remember who the designer was.  I had it stored in my pictures and saw it today, and decided it looked very spring like......I really do have SPRING on my mind.

This beautiful picture was at Sweet Lavender's and I forgot to post it yesterday.....I really love this, mainly for the sentiment written on it.  I believe it is a Needle Love design.
