Sweet and Simple

Good Morning!  Thought I'd start out with this quote for a new day..."Don't allow yourself to wake up with yesterdays issues troubling your mind.  Refuse to live backwards, see everyday as a new chapter".  from etsy.com ..... With that said let me introduce you to Sweet and Simple.

This quilt began the day my friend Leslie said, "I wish you'd design a sampler quilt.  The idea was introduced the spring of 2011.  Spring has a way of bringing inspiration along with gentle rains and warm sunny days.  Everywhere I looked outside, there was new growth springing forth, and the quilt block ideas sprouted to fruition just as quickly.  The first tender sweet peas and salad greens were sprouting through the warmed soil.  The tulips were sure to follow.  At this time the quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder came to mind, "it is the sweet and simple things of life that are the real ones after all".  I became aware, in a fresh new way, of the abundance of my life.  My heart was full and I began putting to cloth some of these simple things that have made my life so richly abundant.

Birds of a feather flock together.  The inspiration for this block came from a book of antique quilts.
