Land that I love.....

I'm the person who can get teary eyed when the National Anthem is played and when I see Old Glory flying in the breeze.....It always hits me the hardest when attending a football game at the University of Utah.  The mountains in the background and the pageantry with the band and the presenting of the colors, can really set me in a tail spin!  Now, I understand that we have an abundance of things that need fixing, but we have much that is right and good.  and if you think I am a bit over the top.....my husband is cut from the same cloth.  After spending 16 days of travel and adventure in Europe, when asked what his favorite part was, "when I walked through customs in Atlanta and the Customs Agent said, Welcome Home"!  With that said, I'll share with you what I've been working on.

I have the lettering appliqued and now I hope to get the applique of the bottom section done on our upcoming trip.  I have some pieced border blocks in mind, which I hope will be just the thing to finish the quilt.  It's all just an experiment of sorts!  :-))

Now about taking pictures of the itty bitty quail.  I am not the photographer to capture that event.  When you happen to see them they are there and gone.  Sorry to disappoint you.

Remember that my monthly drawing will be on Friday just before I leave on the trip with a few of my quilting friends.  Enjoy the moments of your day.

  3. Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I read your posts and am always inspired by your talent and lovely quotes at the end. So glad you enjoyed the Pittsburgh Market. I live here but not a pro/business owner so I could not attend but absolutely appreciate all the great photos and comments all the great bloggers provide. Thank You.

  4. I love this quote! Norma, would you mind if I "borrow" some of these quotes for my guild's newsletter? I've been newly elected the newsletter editor!

  5. I get teary when the flag is saluted and an anthem or patriotic song is played at any time, you are not alone. When you have a child in the service overseas, that flag and our country along with its history is even more meaningful. Love your new quilt and all it embodies.
