Our travels continue....

and brought us to a pottery shop we had never visited before....and oh my!!

Eldreth Pottery nestled in the beauty of the landscape was a joy to visit.

There were birdhouses, bird baths and all sorts of treasures for the garden.  They all looked spectacular in the setting in which they were displayed.

This shop was located out in the country side.  We were delighted because our journey there took us through beautiful scenery.  One time when we found ourselves lost, I stopped and asked a lady for directions.  When I rolled down the window to talk to her, I told her that this is God's country.......with a big smile on her face, she nodded her head in affirmation and said "I know".

Shelves and shelves of beautiful pottery.

Some from our group bought several unique and beautiful Santa's.....everything was so exquisite.

We all left with a purchase of a treasure for us to look at in future days and remember this special trip.

I have been getting quite a bit accomplished in my sewing room, I'll share with you next week.  Meanwhile, enjoy your week end with the long summer days.  The days are passing swiftly, and the season will have passed before we know it.....make the days special!

"Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help.  Gardening is an instrument of grace."    -May Sarton

Our visit to Amish country has made me more aware of the truth of this quote.

  2. Beautiful, beautiful pottery! After reading the quote, I wonder why our society is always in such a hurry... to what end? Some say the Amish way of life is difficult; but I say it's a peaceful, quiet life full of hard work (good exercise!) and centered around family and community...it's a good life. Thank you for sharing!
