Party night!

A happy hearted evening was had by all who came to our quilt group at Elaine's Quilt Block last evening.  We shared the goodies everyone brought and then we got down to business......our quilting accomplishments!  And let me tell you our Ms. Valerie is one of our over achievers.

We all decided we want to make this one.  After the first of the year we may start exchanging the little four patches.  They are made from 1 1/2 inch squares, and finish at 1 inch.

A closer look so that you can see how easily it is constructed.

Valerie had a few left overs for her back.  She is working on the label.

And this is a Cherie Payne design, which we all loved......folk art at it's best.

Another cheery design by Cherie......paper pieced folk art Santa's.

And a Merry, Merry Christmas!

Sandi Wilhite sent me this quote in an email yesterday.  "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:  and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called wonderful, counsellor; the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."  Isaiah 9:6  Thank you Sandi.

The Snow Buddies which I showed yesterday is one that Claire saw on a vintage stitching blog that she follows. Someone else made the pillow other than Claire.  She just thought it would be interesting for us to see another option for the pillow.  She is not claiming any credit for the pillow.......just a wonderful sharer.

  1. Awesome eye candy today! I've always wanted to make the first quilt--what a great idea to exchange 4 patches! I'm going to suggest a swap at my next retreat.

  2. Loved seeing these beautiful quilts! The first caught my eye as I am planning a quilt for a friend using a chain through the middle like this. Then Cheri's design is done up so festive. But then Santa...that quilt is just plain fun :-) Love them all!
