.........A busy day calls for a day of relaxation. However, I have quite a bit on my list for today also. Tonight our quilting group meets at Elaine's Quilt Block and it is our Christmas Potluck. I shopped yesterday for my ingredients for what I'm bringing, but I will still need to do a little cooking. I cooked yesterday because it is the one night a week I prepare dinner for Chad and Grandpa. And lucky us some special friends from our old neighborhood were able to join us Good eats and good conversation! I do think I'm going to find some time for hand sewing and reading today......my favorite pastimes.
Another new quilt completed......I've always wanted a two colored quilt and I chose a rich wonderful blue and antique muslin. The quilter did an amazing job on the quilting.
A close up......When I arrived at the border, I pondered and then decided these little blue dots would be a nice addition tucked between the flying geese blocks.
And the label.
Yesterday my friend Claire Birch from Canada, sent me this pillow made from my Snow Buddies pattern. It is sewwwwww cute in this red fabric! Such a splash of color and so cheerful! Just another idea for all of you who purchased the Snow Buddies pattern. I also loves how she omitted the piping border and made the flange edging......a great idea.
Now For today's drawing. I've selected 6 names since it is the season of giving. Those names drawn are as follows-
Loriann Weister
Mary @ Quilt Hollow
Dee @ Periwinkle branch farms
Joan from Eastern Ontario
Sue Murphy
Susan Singer
I will be waiting to hear from you with your name and address.

Way to go Claire. Very thoughtful of her as you are always so generous. Love the pillow.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote, love the red snowmen pillow, love the 2-color quilt, but especially love the label!!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I think there was some confusion here...please note that I did not make this pillow. It is a beautiful version of Norma's pattern that was posted on Simply Vintage Addict blog. The credit goes to the wonderful stitcher who posted it there. Gorgeous, isn't it?

Wow Norma, what's not to love about your blue and white quilt? A beautiful block in a simple setting, with a totally unique border which makes it absolutely sparkle. I love that your quilter used a traditional motif, rather than an all-over design, which IMO really adds to the vintage look of the quilt. And what a darling label! "
ReplyDeleteYour two color quit is amazing!! The quilting is beautiful, love the border/binding and your label is over the top
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted a two color quilt as well. Yours is just beautiful. Love what you did with the border. Now I want to make one like this as well. Will you have a pattern for it?
