The decorating continues.....

When ever I decorate for the season, it always involves quilts and hand crafted pillows and the like.  And when they are retrieved from the storage cupboard it's like getting reacquainted with old friends.

These little Snow Buddies have returned from a long journey.  They visited France, and I'm pleased that their return was timely so that they can nestle on my couch for the winter.  This pillow has a cotton background and the snowmen and snowflakes are from wool.

Snowbound was my first applique attempt.  It a Red Wagon design and the label on the back tells me that I made it in 1993.  The label also says that it was a winter of record snowfall in Utah.  I remember that winter with fondness......my children were all young and loved playing in it.....but most of all we skied very often, enjoying the greatest snow on earth! (That is our claim here in Utah)
Are you wondering who those feet belong to?  My sweet son in law Chad is the owner of those fine looking feet......He and Grandpa were over for dinner last evening......and I snagged him to hold my quilts for pictures.  After all, he is 6'5", and performs the chore with such good humor.  He decided he would rather show his feet than his head.

A closer look.

Trees Around the World, and it was completed in 1999, and it will remain as one of my all time favorites.  This is also from a Red Wagon book.  Oh! I just love quilts!  They excite me and make me feel warm and cozy all at the same time.

Today, the first person to contact me will receive a free Snow Buddies pillow pattern.  Contact me at  norma@timelesstraditionsquilts.com

  2. I love the trees quilts and I do have that pattern, hopefully I can make it this year. I have been collecting flannels and think that would be perfect for it.
