Oregon Bound........

Wow!  I do not understand what happened to yesterdays blog.....it does not look similar to what I published.  I've found out that Blog Spot is very unreliable.

I will be visiting with quilting friends in Oregon for the next 10 days.  I will not be blogging, because I intend this to be a real vacation.  Part of the time I hope to take my daughter Katrina's advice and excel at doing nothing.....maybe a little sewing though, because that is so relaxing and enjoyable it's almost like doing nothing.  When I return I hope I have bunches of good things to share with you.

The winner of the journal was someone with the email address of Sew and Sew.  I'm waiting to hear from this person.  If I do not hear before I leave, I will mail the journal after I return.  Also the drawing for the second Wed. give away will be while I am gone, so that will occur after I return home.

There were many positive comments about Leslie's slippers.  The pattern was designed by Jennie Adcock......they are called Shlippers.

The following quilts are the stunning creations of Sandy McKell who shared her quilts in a trunk show.

They are absolutely lovely and I'm certain you will all be inspired.

In the creating of this quilt, Sandy was challenged to work a color palette that she does not usually work with.  As you can see she arose masterfully to the occasion!

My parting thought....."Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.  Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."  -Roald Dahl

  3. Love that trunk show! The patriotic sampler quilt is especially inspiring! Was that an original creation or a pattern she used?

  6. I wonder if you could help me find a particular quilt I saw pinned on pinterest that came from your site. It had lots of different barn blocks on it. I just love it and am hoping that it's a pattern I could track down. I didn't have any luck finding the particular post it came from.
