Not familiar territory......

In preparations to teach at Bryce Canyon in February, I decided to teach this pattern, Fragments Of Cloth.....the theme for this years retreat is, "Exploring a new Hue.".  So that is what I am in the process of doing.  Below is the same quilt, just a corner, but definitely a new hue, and in unfamiliar territory for me.

This quilt is made from two different cuts.  Five and a half inch squares and two and a half inch strips.  So pick a hue, and start cutting.  For the first version, I simply went through my big basket of scraps and began cutting.

Chad made me a frame for the stitchery I completed earlier.  Just a simple frame just like what I wanted.

Now here is some of the beautiful and vibrant wool from Marcus.  Three little bundles to give a way.  The wool is not felted, however, when you first see it you will maybe thing that it has.  The wool is of such high quality, and has a tight weave.  These three bundles will go to the first three people to contact me at norma @timelesstraditionsquilts.com

  3. I love your scrappy quilts though I am always afraid that the colours I combine won't "work". The wools are of hues that I love... just don't have confidence working with. How do you felt the wool (I have always assumed thst it was already done), just gently wash it?

  4. Those are some vibrant colors. All the wool I work with is from old blankets and thrift store clothing. The pieced quilt reminds me of Kafe Fassett colors.
