Back in action.....

...once again.  We had a marvelous Thanksgiving with friends and family.  We were sad to not have Ben, Erin and adorable little Wyatt with us, but the distance between us, unfortunately keeps us apart.  After Bruce and I got the house back in order we spent a restful week end.......and that was lovely.  Bruce enjoyed marathon football watching with a little basketball tossed in and I enjoy keeping him company.  I mostly listen and do some stitching......and stop now and then to curl up with a quilt and nap.  Oh, for the sweet simple things in life. :-)

Gayle Burton sent this photo to share with us.  She used by pattern for "Pine and Holly Berry" to make this hooked rug.  I love it.  I would love to do rug hooking also.  However, to keep my life manageable I've limited my time for quilting and reading.  Thanks Gayle for sharing.

Traci Ross sent this photo of one of her first wool projects.  She chose to do "At Home In the Garden".  I especially love her last block.......so folky and cute.  And she created hew own design for this block.  Way to go Traci and thank you for sharing.

The following pictures were taken at our visit to American At Heart, a perfectly lovely shop in Portland.

This charming Santa was on display as you walked in the front door.  The shop was filled with holiday items for the season.

I have always found the lighting options for sale in the shop to be unique.

Here we have St. Nick riding a sheep.

I love this simple little wreathe with a candle holder to slip over a door on a cupboard.

I love the tin punch in the doors of this cabinet.

I find that I am drawn to this chair every time I go in the store.  Julie purchased a chair like this for her home.

Items from our American past.

Shopping here makes me feel warm and cozy.

Notice the wheat carved onto the doors of this cabinet.

I will have more to share tomorrow from the shop.  One can only absorb so many interesting things at one time!

A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt.  He said "I feel as if have two wolves fighting in my heart.  One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one.  The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one."  The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?"  The grandfather answered:  "The one I feed the most."
