Oh, how I love suprises......

This perfectly lovely little table mat arrived in the mail on Saturday from a friend whom I've not had the privilege of meeting face to face......Her name is Paulette Doyle, and she lives in Canada.  Paulette has a marvelous blog and that is how I first came to know her......just like I feel all of you are now my friends. This is a perfect time to thank all of you for all of the kindness and love you have sent my way through your comments and e-mails.  You keep a smile on my face and I feel warmth from your generous messages of appreciation. :-)

Paulette was the creator of this sweet creation.  Now I'm trying to figure out how she made it.  Perhaps she will share with us.

Today I will post the last of the quilt pictures which I have from the auction.

I love this quilt....I was hooked the minute it was held up.  All of the quilts were fabulous this year, but some just jump out and grab you.

Falling leaves.

This quilt is absolutely cheerful, soft and lovely!

I have this quilt on my bed.  I've had many hours of cozy sleeping as a result! :-)

Vibrant!

This beauty gently reached out to me.....so sweet and lovely!

Striking!

Tradition!

  1. Hi Norma!
I am so happy that you like it! I wish I could claim that I made this but no, not me! I wanted to send you something unique and handmade but a wool work or runner just wouldn't do, as you can make that on your own. There is a lady in our area who makes these...they are wool felted and needle felted with wool roving (the holly). She then embellishes them with machine stitching. Would you believe that she even raises the sheep for the wool...cards it herself and then goes from there! Something different and definitely unique and something that you can't make yourself and from our own Cowichan Valley! This is sent with much gratitude and best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and the best in 2016!
    Big hug!

  2. What a lovely gift from Paulette. It looks like a felted wool project from my angle with an added outlining of stitching like I've never seen before. Gorgeous and inspiring! Might have to fall prey to felting after all :-)
Hope you have a blessed and Merry Christmas!

  4. I follow Paulette's blog too. After a while you feel like you really know a person from just following their blog. I really wish I was so much better at blogging. Your blog is just spectacular. Merry Christmas, Norma

  5. What a wonderful surprise and I got one too in round, just the right size for my table and vintage candle. I do needle felting but would love to do something like this, and yes, she has to tell us how she did it;)
