It's a fine morning in my neighborhood!

I decided to start out this post with this cheerful advise.  Sometimes in the doldrums of winter we need a bit of cheer!

"Chin up, chin up, everybody loves a happy face.
Wear it, share it, it will brighten up the darkest place.
Twinkle, sparkle, let a little sunshine in.
You'll be on the right side,
Looking at the bright side,
Up with your chinny chin chin."
- Charlotte's Web

When my children were little I used to pack them up in our suburban, put all of the seats in the back down, and they had a kind of play pen of sorts.....and I'd head across country to visit my family.  It was a 2 day trip.  We would visit on the farm for a month or so, and then Bruce would fly out and help us drive home.  That was a time when we didn't bother with car seats or seat belts.  The kids and I listened to every Fisher Price cassette that was available.  Charlotte's Web was one of our favorite stories.  And to this day, my daughters will try and capture a spider to put it outside, instead of squishing it.  Oh, the memories!

Since Valentines Day is just about here, I believe it is time for a give away.

Sharing Hearts.....the first person to contact me will receive this pattern.....

And the second person to contact me will receive this pattern.  Please don't forget to include your address.

I will finish showing the pictures from Carriage Country Quilts, in Des Moines, Washington.  Some have asked about things they saw on yesterdays blog post.  My best advise is to google the store and then contact them, describing what you are interested in, and I'm certain they will be happy to help you.  They are lovely people.  I would mention reading my blog.

Many wool goodies.

A darling wool applique quilt.

Thinking ahead to Autumn.....

And next winter.

Farmer's wife by Lori Holt.....a Utah girl.

I also have a few pictures of some antique quilts that were on display.....these make my heart sing!  :-)

Have a joyful and cozy week end.

  6. Would love to get either pattern. We used to travel from California to Wisconsin in the same way with our daughters. They played Barbies all day long while we made an often times boring trip across the middle of nowhere. Rita Nichols ritanicholsec@yahoo.com
