Amemorable week end.....

I celebrated my birthday this weekend and welcomed Medicare into my life.  I guess I am officially a senior citizen!  My adorable little great niece is now enrolled at the university of Utah, which promises to bring new life and excitement into our lives.  As her mother, who is my niece told us good bye, Sarah expressed just the right thing to say...."Aunt Norma you sure don't seem your age and you certainly don't act like it! :-)  I took it as a compliment.

We had a visit to Farmers Market, one of my most favorite things to do.  I took a few photos to share with you.

Enjoying all of the fresh produce is part of the end of summer pleasures!  I do not have a vegetable garden as there is not available space.  My daughters however, have splendid gardens and are getting ready to begin the process of canning all of the various things they enjoy doing with tomatoes.

Part of the joy for me is stopping by to enjoy the dogs.

I love picking out a pastry to enjoy with my Sunday morning coffee.

More pooches.

Fabulous loafs of bread in a variety of savory flavors.

We brought home two boxes of peaches.  We eat bunches fresh, and then Bruce freezes peaches for his morning smoothies.

Too cute to pass up.

In spite having a house full of visitors this past week, I managed to finish binding my new quilt, and completing the pillows to accompany it.  I chose these doves, because they mate for life.  I think I will name them, "I Am Yours", and "You Are Mine."

An easy block to make.

And the table runner has been completed also.  I delivered the table runner, the pillows and three quilts to my son in law who is my photographer.  Jess, is so talented and helpful, I'm not certain what I would do with out him!  So, patterns should be coming in the near future.

A close up.
I Thought I'd share one of my favorite quotes to start us out on the new week.  "What ever you are, be a good one."
-Abraham Lincoln

I'll have more quilts of valor to share tomorrow.

  6. Happy Birthday ❤️ Your pictures look like you enjoyed a fun weekend. I visited our farmers market last Thursday and really got carried away buying fruit! The dry farmed watermelon was my first purchase and it was all delicious fun "downhill" after that :-)
This new table runner is really beautiful with that wonderful vine border.
Blessings for a grand new year!
