Antiquities.....

Today I had the privilege of meeting with the local fabric rep for a fabric company called Quilting Treasures. This company has been in operation since 1987.  They are bringing out some gorgeous unique fabrics from 1807.  They have in their possession archived fabrics which they are reproducing, and the colors are lovely.  Often that is more important to me than the design itself.  Needless to say it was an inspirational visit.  I hope to have samples to share with you my readers in the future.

And.....now back to the quilt show.

Little scraps of fabric cut into squares, and then set off with sashing....lovely.

I see that some of my favorite fabrics also reside at Anne Marie's house.  From France to the U.S.A........lovers of fabric. :-)

Sunburst.....Amazingly beautiful!

Inspiration coming from a quilt in New Jersey, all the way over to France.

A marvelous quilt made in France and influenced by the Ohio Amish.

When looking back at this quilt, I remember how very special I thought this quilt was.....intricate, exquisite and lovely!

I am so sorry that I failed to get the information on this quilt.  I can only guess that I was so swept off my feet, and that my focus was off in the clouds of wonderment!

Nothing but the humble little nine-patch, and look how amazing the finished creation is.

I think that the way the alternate block is hand quilted really adds to the over all look of the quilt.

What a masterpiece!  Simply stunning!

How many times have we thought, "well this project will certainly make a dent in our scraps."  NOT!  Instead they seem to grow.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better......then this incredibly amazing appliqued quilt.

I certainly understand her love affair with this quilt!

This quilt is from our quilter friends in the Netherlands!  Some how I can envision this quilt having originated in Holland.  All of my ancestry came to the U.S. from Holland so that added a bit of fascination for me.  The gorgeous blue quilt shown above would remind me of the Dutch dishes my mother had.

Once again this quilt has a deep felt meaning for this quilter in Holland, and no doubt helped her through this painful experience of loosing her friend.
