A brand new week....

...brings with it many new possibilities.  I have enjoyed a splendid week end with enjoyable hours of stitching and reading......my favorite things.

Someone commented on Instagram that they loved observing the birth of this quilt.......it's exciting for me too!  When you are in the groove, it is fun experiencing the growth.

This quilt is mostly wool on the beautiful Diamond Textile background.  However, I enjoy having a bit of cotton tucked here and there for interest.

While visiting the Normandy coast area, we took a day and visited Mont St Michelle.  It was a spectacular sight.  It was once upon a time a monastery, that could only be reached at low tide.  It can be seen for miles away.

We found a place there for lunch......their specialty was omelets.  Yum.....eggs sounded good.

This beautiful piece was in an alcove near our table.....and I loved it.

Words can not tell the overwhelming goodness of the bread.  I was in heaven.....and with real butter! :-)

However, something was lost in translation, because when this arrived at our table, both Bruce and I were taken by surprise.  I am one who does not care to chase my eggs around my plate, so this was a challenge......and the bacon was wiggly.  Oh well, you win a few and lose a few.  I simply continues to eat bread, and loved the dessert.  The crème bruele was especially lovely.

There were numerous shops and interesting places to eat on our walk to the top.

And as you can see, it was quite a hike to the top.

I marveled as to how it was constructed before cranes and such.

A gun turret.

Nearing the top.

How does your garden grow......out of rock in this instance.

The view was spectacular!  We found our way home for a nap before dinner that evening.  So happy for this experience.

-Cesar Chavez......we know this is applicable to our quilts too!

  2. I love your little blocks and the mixture of cotton with wool. What an amazing trip that must have been to see Mont St Michelle. Our little town in the midwest has a high school that was built in 1929 and some people wanted a new one because it was almost 100 years old. It looks like a small castle. I think 100 is nothing compared to those fantastic buildings in Europe. Thank you for sharing your talent and adventures!
