Memorial Day week-end.....

The official beginning of summer.....and a long weekend to enjoy with my husband.  We will be celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary. :-) Yeah for us!

I look forward to bring Patriotic Cat out every summer......she is a high flying flag carrying cat!  She was easy to make.

Today I found some time to make some final patriotic touches.  This Stars and Stripes pattern will be given away tomorrow to the sixth person to email me  norma@timelesstraditionsquilts.com
This pattern is so easy that you can have it made by the 4th of July.  If you have won recently, give someone else a chance to win please.

I filled my wooden bowl with the patriotic stars.

It is exciting to have this quilt to display on my bench this summer.

Yes, We Can, America.....is out visiting some great quilt shop, but this pattern will be offered as a give away soon.

I don't believe I mentioned, but we had a 20-25 minute train ride every morning to reach the exposition center which was on the edges of Nantes.  So one evening we had free, we found ourselves meandering through the neighborhoods close to our hotel.

This old castle with a moat surrounding it was near the hotel.

Old streets!

The United States are so young comparatively.

We were impressed with this old cathedral.

It was very beautiful.

Yes, the love for dogs is universal!

"Who is rich? He who is content with his portion."

Please have a special Memorial weekend!

  1. I love the idea of putting the stars in your wooden bowl. I might have to make some for mine! Cathedrals are awesome. I've never been to Europe to see the really old ones but ever since I read Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth I've been rather fascinated by them. The construction of them would be quite an undertaking today let alone centuries ago. So amazing!
