We enjoyed a long weekend.....

.....because of the Martin Luther King Holiday.    A quote by Martin Luther King that I decided to share today is this, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.  Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

I will be teaching soon at Ruby's Inn, located outside of beautiful Bryce, Canyon.  One of the classes will be about creative ways to work with strips in quilting.  This pattern is called the Memory Keeper.  My idea is that if making this design with a group, everyone participating could sign their name to a strip.

This quilt is made from 1 1/2 " strips.  I just forged my way through scraps cutting 1 1/2 " strips.  Friends participating in making this quilt can do the same, and contribute from their scraps.....remembering to sign a block.

This is actually the strip quilt we will be starting in class.

This is foundation pieced also using strips with the addition of a larger strip and a quarter circle.  This quilt was a complete joy to create.  I will be sharing another strip quilt which is out visiting a different shop.

And here is the Mister, holding this small wall hanging, called Remember the Giver.

This pattern called Hearts All Year Long, will be given to the tenth person to email me their name and address.

"When we see men of worth, we should think of equaling them;  when we see men of contrary character, we should turn inward and examine ourselves.  -Confucius

  3. That is one of my favorite quotes from Dr. King. If only more people took it to heart. Thanks for warming me up with your wonderful quilts. It's freezing here in New England and we have more sloppy snow on the way.

  7. Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this website.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's tough to get
that "perfect balance" between superb usability and appearance.
I must say you've done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads very fast
for me on Chrome. Exceptional Blog!
