Home again.....

Unfortunately, I have been unavailable for this past week.  I managed to avoid getting sick this past cold and flu season, only to return with a real winner of a cold.  It has laid me low!!!!! But a new day has broken, and I am on the mend.

Julie, Kursave, accompanied on the trip to Michigan.  What a happy eventful time we hand.  The guild in Michigan which I visited was filled with very lovely quilters.....warm and welcoming.  I did a trunk show and taught two classes.  The time flew by so quickly.  I came home with many pictures and tales to share with you.

Our first day we passed through Wyoming on I 80.  This day was a bit uneventful, except for the fact that Julie received an interesting email from her Aunt living in France.  She was asked, "Are you attending your cousins wedding on Saturday?"  She replied, "What cousin?"  Her aunts reply, "Well your cousin Harry of course."  Julie was a Spencer before marriage, and her aunt who has done extensive genealogy, determined that she was related through Princess Diana, who was also a Spencer.  Wellllll, the status of my passenger changed suddenly! I had royalty in my presence.  We had a lot of fun with this fact, and milked it for all it was worth! :-)

Our first stop was in Cozad, Nebraska.  If you are traveling down I 80, do not consider passing by Cozad without exiting and visiting Prairie Point Junction.  If you are not heading that way, check out their web site.  They have a great mail order business going, because they are known for their marvelous wool selection.

Julie and the friendly staff that work there were just preparing these beautiful green wool bundles to send out.  The month of May, green was the color for the month.  This bundle was gorgeous!  This would be a great way to build up your wool stash.

A sweet and inspiring little quilting oasis out on the prairie in Nebraska.

A great selection of fabric too.

This photo isn't great, but there are barn quilts for the states, found all over this interesting little town.

Just a couple of blocks down the street is a lovely little gift shop.

Rustic & Red.

There were many temptations.

So, we asked about a good place for lunch, and we were directed to this little Mexican restaurant.  I was puzzled about the Elephant and Deer, wondering how they were connected to Mexican Cuisine.  We never did figure that out.  Our food and chips and salsa did not disappoint.  There were at least 5 clocks throughout the dining room, and they all read a different time...…..it didn't really matter, because as Jimmy Buffet sings, "It's 5 o:clock somewhere.
