Summer Days....

I've been trying to wrap my mind around the fact that it's June and summertime.  How the days fly by.  Last evening I taught at a local quilt shop, Quilt's Etc., and when I arrived home, I decided my mind was such a tired blurr,  that I chose to take my book and read in bed even though it was only 9 p.m.  After all, it's those lazy days of summer, right!

This is the next shop we visited.  The Country Sampler in Omaha, Nebraska.  Very easily accessed from I 80.  There are many great shops along I 80, but we were unable to stop at them all, because they closed early, or the timing was just wrong.  We had hoped to catch The Quilted Moose, but were unable to catch it before they closed...….nest time perhaps.

When I saw this  Trip Around the World quilt, it  beckoned me.  I've always thought I wanted to make one of these, but there are just so many things I want to do, see, and make with my time. And let's not forget all of the books that I want to read.

The Country Sampler store is well stocked with fabulous fabric and samples....much to inspire.  I found this bike quilt just so sweet!  And as you can see there are great quilts in the background.

Here is one of the piles of quilts that are waiting to visit other shops or will be packed again in my sky box to travel to California with me in August where I will visit another guild and share my quilts once again.

When I entered my drive way, this is what greeted me.  The roses are not only pretty but very fragrant.

This evening we have the privilege of sharing dinner with our daughters and their husbands.  The girls say we not just eating out,
but that we are dining.  After their explanation, I now understand that there is really quite a difference.  We will linger and eat slowly and enjoy each others company.  Sounds lovely to me.

Watch you words they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny."  -Lao Tzu
