A Walk Down Memory Lane

Yesterday, I mentioned that Autumn had officially come to my house.  Here is my porch ready for the season.  The doll setting on the chair was a purchase I made when we did a girl friend trip to Ohio a couple of years ago.  We went later in the month of Sept. than now, because we planned out trip around attending The Country Living Fair in Columbus Ohio.  That was scheduled to be at the conclusion of our trip, and before that we wandered the beautiful back roads of Ohio.  We investigated history and sites connected to the Underground Railroad, and thoroughly enjoyed Amish Country.  We ate at amazing restaurants and stayed at a very old restored hotel.   Now, where am I going with all of this.....as I decorated my porch for the season and placed things just so......I remembered where they were purchased and took a trip down Memory Lane.......one of my favorite places to go!

I got a good start on designing my winter quilt, but the problem was I started in the afternoon and worked into the eve., and then I couldn't sleep. Ideas kept buzzing around in my head which could not be settled......similar to the bees around my daughters hive.  Which reminds me......all of the guests at the wedding were given a cute little jar of honey from their hive.  I definitely think it is time to sign off, because I'm meandering the back roads of my mind far too much!

  2. Your porch looks so warm and inviting! I especially love the birdhouse with the gourds hanging on it and the red wreath really pops on your black door. Gives me some ideas! I also wanted to let you know I received the pattern that I won and it's gorgeous! Thank you so much.

  4. I too love the birdhouse and gourds. I also like the wooden toolbox(?) filled with gourds and leaves. Very inviting entry. Making memories are some of the gifts of life.
