Made from Grandma's Aprons

Good Morning......if you are wondering why this is being posted so late, I just returned from my colonoscopy......I'll spare you the details except to say I had a good report......one more thing to be thankful for.

This is a quilt I have re branded with my new company name.  I love the vintage feel of it.  Over the years I have collected feed sacks, yes aprons where I loved the fabric, and I have used many of those fabrics in this quilt.  Of course I've used my fabric recent reproduction fabrics as well.  Both of my daughters have an appreciation for the look of this type of vintage quilt.  In fact my daughter who just got married chose a 30's looking quilt for her wedding.

I liked this bit of advise taken from Pinterest "It's the Holiday Season......Don't forget to set your scales back 10 lbs. at midnight".  :-)  I've been looking over recipes the last week or so.  I've been determining what pies I will make for Thanksgiving.  We are being included with friends and family this year and my assignment is to do the home made rolls and the deserts.  This will be one of the first years in a long time where I have not cooked dinner for my family from out of state.  I will miss doing that again, however we look forward to this new experience.

It's snowing here today, and I'm sure it is dumping bunches in the mountains.  Just the thing to start out the new ski season.

  1. Your quilt is beautiful - I love the colors and combination of pieced & applique. Thanks for the warning...I better set my scale back 15#, just in case. LOL Glad you were blessed with a good report.

  2. Thank you Ann. About the scale....this time of year is when I want to bake and then unfortunately I eat too much of it.

  3. I love the quilt! I especially like thinking of all the hands that have touched those aprons and how many family stories they could tell.
