Turkey Time

It's Friday once again......the earth is spinning, and so is my head....it will soon be Thanksgiving.  Gaylyn shared her wonderful quilt just completed in time for the holiday.....and that is her just peeking over the top of the quilt.  This is a Jan Patek design.  Several gals in our group spoke up and said they had it hanging in their homes. This has been a popular design and I can understand why.  Gaylyn did some of her applique out of wool, which really gave it dimension.......as for the turkey, what can I say, except that he is down right awesome!

I have a journal where I write down inspiring words that are beautifully written, for I am a lover of well written words.  Today I want to share these words written by Henry David Thoreau.  "I am grateful for what I am and have.  My thanksgiving is perpetual.  It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite - only a sense of existence.  My breath is sweet to me.  Oh how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches.  No run of my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possessions, but enjoyment.  If the day and the night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance, like flowers and sweet scented herbs, it is more ecstatic, starry and immortal...that is your success."

Today I want to be more aware and thank-ful for the things I take for granted.  It is a rainy day here and the rain is to turn to snow, so I'm going to be so happy to stay tucked inside my house.....do some cooking, sewing and reading.  All is good.  Have a splendid week end.
