This is just a tiny taste, there will be more goodness tomorrow.

I was asked to recommend a good basic quilt book.  I love The Art of Classic Quilt Making by Harriet Hargrave and Sharyn Craig.  It is a go to book for information and inspiration.  I especially admire and adhere to the advise given under the heading....Why Quilters Have to Collect Fabric.
"Quilters are constantly telling us that if they buy one more yard of fabric, their spouses will go off the deep end.  As a result they are always trying to justify their fabric purchases.  We believe that we need to reassess our thinking and give ourselves permission to be involved in an art that requires working materials.  A fabric collection is no different than a stamp collection or a collection of fishing tackle."  And, you can take that to be absolutely the truth and very well presented....don't you think?  Makes perfect sense to me! :-)

"Put your heart, mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts.  This is the secret of success."

  2. What gorgeous quilts - thank you!

I think fabric stash should be compared to paints. You wouldn't expect a painter of fine art to only have a few colors, would you? Plus, "new" fabric inspires us to create, don't you think?
